No problem at all.
A,B,C,D etc. together with flats and sharps concerns the English language solely. Your husband is right when it comes to the German language. Probably he is German.
English B is German H
English B flat is German B
So if he tells you to play an H, just play your B as usual, when he tells you to play a B, take your B flat and you should be ok.

I need help! I played the violin at school and All-City Orchestra from 7-18 years of age. Of course, I am not good anymore being 47, but I am sure I still know my notes. My husband played drums and he insists that violin notes also have an”H” on the scale. I am in a dilemna as I insisted there is no “H” only, A,B.C.D.E.F.G along with sharps, flats, bla bla bla, but no “H”. If he is correct, would someone tell me how to play an “H” on a violin? If he is wrong, please tell me. I was concert mistress the last 5 years in high school, and he will habe proven me an idiot! Thank you and God Bless!

Hoffentlich finden Sie es nicht aufdringlich, aber da Sie schon längere Zeit Ihren wirklich vorzüglichen Blog nicht mehr aktualisiert haben hoffe ich, Sie sind gesund und wohlauf.
Schon längst wollte ich mich eigentlich bei Ihrem Geigenforum registrieren lassen, aber ich bin zeitlich meistens recht knapp und komme mitnichten regelmäßig zur Lektüre – geschweige denn zu hin und wieder einem Beitrag.
