About

Hi and welcome everybody,

“another blog?” you will ask. Well… Yes.
Some months ago I was looking for a blog especially for violinists and their often technically related problems. Guess what? I didn’t find any.
There were loads of blogs for musicians of all categories but almost none for violinists. At least none for the technical stuff we are confronted with daily.
The decision was made: I’ll run my own blog. I’ve done it before – and I still do it – in German. This German blog is quite popular, even in America. But there is always this darn language barrier. So please bear with me if some things sound a bit… odd…

And why Canadian?
Well, this blog is for everybody of course. But the server sits in Vancouver (Thanks again, guys!) and I had to chose a name.

Finally some words about myself. I’m a professional violinist and violin teacher for almost 25 years now, pretty long time I guess. I played in various symphony orchestras but I decided to concentrate on teaching because I couldn’t cope with the German way of running an orchestra. Musicians in Germany have an excellent education but the theatres sometimes treat them as if they were second-class-people. An attitude of arrogance and pretension.

Anyway – I hope you’ll like this blog. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, just drop me a line.

Have fun!
